Goth-Trad (JP)

A unique producer with a unique style, Goth-Trad has emerged from the Japanese electronic scene in the last decade as one of the most arresting artists from his generation. "The sound originator" Goth-Trad creates remarkable dance music with an abstract approach. He started his music career in 1998 and through the years he managed to create his own style and approach. It has to be mentioned the bridge stone in Goth-Trad career came in November 2014, when he started his own Back To Chill label. In 2015, Goth-Trad found a dubplate cutting studio named Was Alchemy near his house, and he restarted cutting dubplates. As it can be seen from his approaches like the remix for Japanese noisecore band Endon and a collaboration with heavy rock band Boris, his music was becoming more and more alternative. In 2016, his Back To Chill night had its 10th anniversary occasion on which he released a very limited dubplate & USB digital album, "Psionics". He featured Boris and American experimental hip-hop MC Dälek on the limited dubplate.

Black Rhino Music presents Compa (UK) / 28.09

Black Rhino Music's next residency in club Expirat welcomes Compa (UK) with local support from WRK and Vru Dubz. For this session the sound will be powered by Irie Warriors Sound System.

-----------

Compa (UK)

Following his debut appearance on Get Darker TV in March 2011, Compa released his inaugural 12" single with one of Dubstep's foundation imprints Boka Records (Tracks "Sentence" and "Beginning"), and his infamous bootleg of Mavado’s "Dem A Talk" which sold out worldwide within one week of its release, and at the tender age of just 21, he's newly signed to Mala's Deep Medi Musik label, perhaps the most revered seal of approval in underground Dubstep circles.

The Compa sound has received acclaim from across the board with key influences like BBC 6 Music's Gilles Peterson & Nerm showing praise, as well as MistaJam, Toddla T and B-Traits on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, not forgetting J:Kenzo, Jay 5ive, Plastician and N-Type amongst others on the prestigious Rinse FM. Tracks have even found their way into the record bags of scene pioneers Chase & Status (Ram, Mercury, Renegade Hardware), US Dubstep ambassador, Joe Nice (Dub War, Reconstrvct) and of course Mala (Deep Medi, DMZ) who has now signed Compa to his seminal Deep Medi Musik label.

In addition to performances in the Netherlands, Croatia, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey, Poland, Estonia, Greece, China and India, Compa has also toured Sweden, Canada and North America twice-over since the start of 2012.

...and yet despite his tour schedule and between studio time, you can still hear Compa play live on Sub FM once a month, Monday 18:00-20:00 GMT.
