#KingSize drinks, all night long

The Qemists are, in many ways, something of a qonundrum. They’re rock kids seduced by the dancefloor, dance kids equally happy playing live instruments or building tracks on the computer, drum & bass aficionados who believe their hurtling breakbeats sound best under big muscular metallic guitar riffs.

On paper, such a sound clash seems like a train wreck in the making. However, pumped as loud as your speakers will allow, or booming through the PA at one of their live shows, The Qemists make glorious sense. Their fearless genre-mashing has already garnered them a sizeable following across the globe, scoring a previous number one album in Japan and playing to audiences of over half a million people in Poland.

The New Album “Warrior Sound” has seen the band grow from three to five members, but The Qemists also continue to broaden their sound by teaming up with a diverse range of artists, including Hacktivist on the brilliant up-tempo anthem Jungle. The album also features collaborations with Japanese metallers, Crossfaith, whose singer Kenta Koie features on Anger and UK grime MC Ghetts on No Respect.
Now a band of five brothers – Dan Arnold, Bruno Balanta, Liam Black, Leon Harris and Olly Simmons, The Qemists are a real live tour de force. Proof of this has been seen on recent tours with Korn and Enter Shikari & Crossfaith and one off shows with the likes of Skindred, and stand-out festival performances at Download, Breakout and Butserfest.

The band are now primed and ready to unleash their latest album, Warrior Sound, which binds their respective influences & styles together naturally into one progressively cohesive and solid sound. In short, The Qemists have finally arrived.

Supporting line-up: Brusten & IVN

Brusten started his activity related to the bass music movement in 2008, in Coolcat Club where he organised a series of weekly events called Blast. In 2008 he also became a resident DJ at the events held in Fabrica. His first productions came out in 2011, extending now with many new releases outside the country and many more remixes for various artists. His tunes were broadcast on BBC Radio1 Xtra, DJ Mag, Bassdrive, Longitude.fmSub.fm, Radio Guerrilla and several other podcasts such as Cranium Sessions by Amoss and so on.

In 2012 he founded a radio show at Radio Romania – Radio3Net (alongside Tremour, Adrian Jumuga). The show had the purpose of promoting quality bass music producers and DJs (mainly from Romania).

Currently he is focused on collaborating with Hangout Music, where he is the main representative of The Grey Division. For this year, they have prepared a compilation of 10 tracks, a vinyl release, several digital releases and some events to showcase their signature sounds.
In parallel, he is the host of #bucharestpressure sessions. A series of monthly events promoting only quality sounds, in order to keep the underground scene alive.

IVN is a young Bucharest artist which was a pleasant surprise for the listeners back in 2014, when he emerged. Having managed to conquer the audience with a mix of different styles, combining in a special way all genres of drum & bass, he is creating a personal story through music. He appeared on stage in 2014 at Arena Dnb with artists such as Koven, Roksonix, Inflex, DJ Snow. Over the years he has been on stage with artists such as TC, Rene LaVice, My Nu Leng.
