Our fourth conference is bringing under the spotlight the world of online radio stations. We will discuss with our guest speakers the beginnings of online radios, how a station is managed, the projects such a platform can develop and the value they add to the music communities around them.

♬ ♬ Orpheu de Jong:
The man born Orpheu de Jong is a Red Light Radio co-founder celebrated for the breadth and depth of his taste and the passion with which he plays. Closely linked with the acclaimed Dekmantel crew for who he is in house designer, Orpheu is a big but back stage player on his native scene, and is now rightfully making a mark on the wider world.

Based in Amsterdam but very much with one foot in the cosmos, Orpheu The Wizard has been surprising and delighting people with his unconventional sets for years and years...

The Dutchman has done so with little fanfare before now, because his skills have simply spread through the mouths of those astounded by what they have heard when they see him play. It’s hard describe what goes down in one of his sets, the distinguished selector is not afraid of taking left turns, serving up curveballs and doing the unexpected.

Taking real pride and joy in unearthing and sharing his usually musical treats, Orpheu The Wizard is musically curious and invites his audiences to be so too. As versatile as he is eclectic, you are as likely to be floating in outer space one moment as you are rooted to a beat the next.

♬ ♬ David O'Donnell:
David O'Donnell is a creative producer and director with a vast experience in radio stations. He produced Gilles Peterson shows on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, BBC Radio6 Music and BBC Radio1; he also produced shows for Red Bull Studios Radio.
Until last year David was Managing Director for Worldwide FM radio, planning and implementation of the design, strategy, staffing and launch of the station, from brand identity and web/app development, through to on-air scheduling and talent acquisition.

Since its launch in September 2016 he was managing a growing team of staff, overseeing the day to day running and continued expansion of Worldwide FM from the London headquarters, liaising with teams in LA and Tokyo.

The London-based producer started his own SYSTEM nights in London some years ago, which included his own custom-built soundsystem. V.I.V.E.K.’s SYSTEM nights soon turned into a record label that has been releasing some of the most forward thinking sounds in dubstep since its 2013 debut EP "Asteroids".

Words about WRK:
WRK is a founding member of the oldest group of promoters and DJs from Târgu Mureș (Romania), LBC Kru. Alongside them he was responsible for organizing the first electronic music parties in his hometown, and later, in the early 2000s the event series "Fundamental Breaks" that brought to the city the most renowned drum & bass and breakbeat DJs from all over the country at the time. He started DJing in 2003, and after getting a residency in the local club Avi-Cola, played warm-up and after sets with Rapala for a series of exclusive nights promoting all varieties of broken beats. Ever since, he's been an active member of the movement, playing mostly bass heavy music, from deeper dubstep to the more forward thinking electronic beats and occasionally old school 2-step / garage.

Words about Irie Warriors Sound System:
Irie Warriors build their sound system in 2012, becoming Irie Warriors Sound System. Operated by Dani and Low Freq, their music resides both in rockers and steppers rhythm. Playing in major festivals and dances around the country Irie Warriors Sound System impresses by its versatile and militant sound.
Come and join their dances to hear early reggae, rub-a-dub, digital dancehall and one drop music selection.

Words about Agmantav:
Playlist, selection and style of mixing made Agmantav one of the most respected dubstep DJs in Romania. Both as a DJ and producer, he is influenced by the heavy sound of the deep and dark areas of grime and dub.

We begin the new season in Expirat with a joint event along with our friends from Samurai Music. Head honcho Presha, will come along with Clarity and The Untouchables, two names representative for Samurai Music. Black Rhino Music will be represented by Low Freq and Fane.

Words about Clarity:

Bristol-based Owen Brown aka Clarity has rapidly become one of the names to watch in the current drum and bass scene. Having stumbled upon drum and bass music at the age of 14, within two years Clarity managed to write music that was immediately supported by top names like dBridge, Doc Scott, Loxy, Jubei, Skeptical and Grooverider. Inevitable signings to respected labels followed swiftly with imprints such as Med School, Samurai Music, Cylon, Horizons, and dBridges' mighty Exit Records label stepping up to launch the Clarity name and sound proudly to the world.

Words about Presha:

Internet, radio, and nightclub DJ, event promoter, distributor, record label owner and artist mentor, Geoff Wright aka Presha's list of accomplishments and roles within the music industry is immense. Even more impressive is that he has been a forerunner in each of these disciplines, firmly entrenching himself within the sonic architecture of electronic music culture worldwide. Through his Samurai Music, Red Seal & Horo record labels, his many radio shows over the years, club sets, & events promotion companies, Presha served as a guiding hand in the growth and development of the New Zealand scene and assisted heavily in establishing the international export of artists such as Tokyo Prose, Fis, State of Mind, Trei, and Dose amongst others. 2011 saw an indefinite relocation to Europe, a move essential to the expansion and longevity of both the Samurai Music labels and his devotion to the art of DJing. From his adopted home in Berlin, Presha made 2012-2017 the busiest years to date for the Samurai Music group of labels with high profile releases from the artist stable including Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Dub Phizix & Skeptical, Loxy & Resound, ENA, ASC, Tokyo Prose, Ruffhouse, Clarity and many more.

Words about Low Freq:

Based in Bucharest, Codin Orășeanu aka Low Freq is present on the music scene for over 15 years. Music producer, DJ and promoter, Low Freq combines elements of bass music with strong industrial synths, continuously searching to explore the sound. Over time Low Freq has been a part of groups such as Blanoz, Shadowbox while in 2014 he started the band Dream Diggers. Alongside Dani, Low Freq is also operator for Irie Warriors Soundsystem. 2017 is the year Codin Orășeanu formed Black Rhino Music.

Words about Fane:

Fane is a DJ, music producer and promoter of the atmospheric and militant style of half-step drum and bass. With a strong passion for the dancefloor, Fane's productions are oriented through punchy drums and heavy basslines. Former co-host off the Step In Sessions at Groove On Radio, Fane also launched the Nu Doar Bass online platform where, over time, he presented a series of 170 bpm guest mixes. In 2017 Fane joined Low Freq to be a part of the Black Rhino Music project.
